Our redesigned all-gender restroom signs.
We’ve written extensively on the growing acceptance of all-gender bathrooms, and as awareness has grown, so has the importance of all-gender restroom signs.
You may have noticed that we redesigned our all-gender signs (thanks, GLAAD!). We replaced the cisgender-based icon, which social justice activist Sam Killermann criticized, with the simpler imagery he proposed: a toilet. Our new signs are designed to welcome all, regardless of one’s gender identity or gender expression.
We’re also proudly sending the signs to interested college campuses across the U.S., from small liberal arts colleges to large research universities. The Huffington Post recently reported that colleges have been at the forefront of adopting all-gender bathroom signage, with more than 150 campuses having some all-gender facilities. We hope to grow that number.
